Skopje, 16 November 2012 (MIA) - Police in a?coordinated action with the Public Revenue Office, market inspection department and Metrology Bureau have busted a 10-member criminal ring from Negotino suspected of abuse by failing to meet obligations stemming from contracts on public procurement, transportation and delivery of heating oil to purchasing agents, usually state institutions or local self-government organs in several cities across Macedonia.
Ten people have been arrested, all Negotino natives. The Public Prosecutor's Office is expected to file charges for organised crime and corruption against the suspects.
Following a months-long investigation dubbed "Kerosene" it has been revealed that the criminal group through an oil supplier company from Negotino?took part and obtained public procurements issued by budgetary beneficiaries to provide heating oil, however its price had no economic justification.
Seven locations were raided yesterday in Skopje and Negotino, Interior Minister Gordana Jankuloska told a press conference on Friday. In the raids, four fuel-carrying vehicles, three passenger vehicles, mobile phones, computers, various documents, money?etc. were seized.
The criminal group had obtained proceeds in amount of 20 thousand euros after only one transportation in one day with only one cistern, according to Jankuloska. ba/14:25
